ECTS - Key Features (EN)

Grading and qualification system

a) Scale used in national and ESTAL rating:

The final classification of the qualification and each module are expressed through a note on a numerical scale from 0 to 20. Considered to be "Approved" in a course the student who obtains a grade not lower than 10 in it. To complete the qualification, which corresponds to a final rating of 10 to 20, it is necessary to pass all the mandatory units of the syllabus.

b) the ECTS grading scale:

The grading scale ECTS (European scale of comparability of ratings) for graduates and students in approved courses, consists of five classes, identified by the letters A through E (A being the highest rating and E the most low), and aims to simplify the comparison between the rating scale applied nationally and prevailing elsewhere and make more transparent the process of assessment and academic recognition of the results. The scores A, B, C, D and E must be allocated 10%, 25%, 30%, 25% and 10 % of students, respectively.

The fixing of classifications covered by each class of European-wide comparability of ratings is performed: (i) for each course, each course of study; (ii) for each course.

The assignment of the classification according to the ECTS is based on the distribution of ratings, 10-20, graduates (or students approved) within three academic years preceding that in which the graduate (or student) has completed the qualification (or got use). , so the total number of graduates (or students approved ) during this period is not less than 30 Where this dimension ( thirty) is not reached at that time, it must evolve in stages, to: (i) the 4th previous year; (ii) 5th previous year. If still the size that still does not apply, the following universes are used:

(i) for the courses, we consider all graduates of courses: 1st - with goals similar training ; 2nd - the same course of study / level; 3th - ESTAL successively any cycles;

(ii) for the courses , we consider all students on approved courses: 1 - with results from similar learning; . 2nd - the same course, academic year and semester. ; 3rd - the same course and academic year; 4th - courses with similar training goals in the same academic year and semester; 5th - courses with similar training goals in the same academic year; 6th - the same course; 7th - courses with similar training goals; 8th - courses with the same course of study / level; 9th – of ESTAL and successively any studying cycles.
